Edge of Dusk
36 x 36”, Oil on Linen
I approached Edge of Dusk as a more abstract exploration of the fleeting transition between day and night. What drew me in was watching the colors quietly layer themselves—glowing yellows and muted violets creating a sense of depth and openness, anchored by the darker shoreline beneath it all.
A solitary sailboat drifting along the horizon adds a quiet point of reference, while the winding tidal pool gathers threads of light and naturally guides the eye through the scene.
For me, this painting is about how light and color shape the human experience. There’s a stillness at dusk that feels almost meditative—that brief pause at the edge of the day, just before everything slips into evening.
