Transcendence
36 x 36”, Oil on Linen
I painted Transcendence on an evening when golden light seemed to infuse everything it touched. What drew me in was witnessing how the sunset transformed ordinary water and sky into something luminous—a moment that felt bigger than itself.
A broad path of shimmer moves through the scene, drawing the eye across the water as land and sky dissolve into a single, pulsating atmosphere. The boat and distant shoreline feel less like destinations and more like gentle markers within the light itself.
For me, this painting is about those rare moments when light alters our sense of scale and time — when movement slows, space opens, and the familiar feels quietly elevated. There’s a stillness here that asks nothing, yet leaves you feeling changed.
