Evening Tethers

30 × 40”, Oil on Linen

Inspired by an evening in the old harbor at Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Evening Tethers explores the quiet interval between the activity of the day and the arrival of dusk. Sailboats and working vessels rest at their moorings while warm light settles across the water, linking sky, shoreline, and harbor in a single luminous passage.

The painting focuses on a more subtle experience of tthe stillness that arrives as boats are secured for the evening and the harbor gradually grows quiet.

Part of the Golden Shimmer series — exploring luminous golden light across quiet harbors and ocean waters.
