A Silver Lining
30 × 30 in, Oil on Linen
A Silver Lining is a coastal seascape oil painting capturing light breaking through clouds and reflecting across shimmering water.
I painted this piece thinking about those quiet moments when the clouds begin to open just enough for light to pass through. There’s a gentle contrast between the weight of the sky and that glowing path of shimmer stretching across the water.
I wanted the light to feel like it’s slowly unfolding. The sailboat moves through that reflection, almost carried by it, while the muted blues keep the mood calm and atmospheric.
For me, this painting is about that in-between moment—when the day shifts, the air softens, and everything seems to pause along the coast.
